Environmental Science is a systematic study in caring for the Creator's world. The course aims to nurture gratitude and awe for what God has made, giving significant attention to concepts such as Christian creation care, history of the science, the roles of governmental and nonprofit organizations, practicing natural history, and the complexities of the science and its interchange with human politics and policy. The environmental challenges we face today stemming from pollution, resource exploitation, and especially climate change require a generation of people who care about the planet. Only when students perceive the world properly will they begin to appreciate it, and only then will they be motivated to care for it. While not explicitly an AP course, the text covers AP standards. The disposition of the text and the attitude of the course exhorts students to have hope while working to be knowledgeable and care for God’s creation.
