Get to know Feminine Genius with Mrs. Monika Minehart
Feminine Genius is a once a week, year-long course designed for girls entering grades 8-12 that will introduce what Saint Pope John Paul II famously described as the Feminine Genius of women -- a natural ability to lead others to Christ through their God-given gifts and talents. At an age-appropriate level that engages both the head and heart, young ladies can expect to experience prayer, discussion, journaling time, and the study of sacred scripture.
We will follow the schedule below with resources from ENDOW (Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women), Saint Pope John Paul II, and a reading of Little Women where we will apply our understanding of the feminine genius to Louisa May Alcott's relatable characters and timeless story.
Quarter 1: Created for Love, Endow
Quarter 2: Mulieris Dignitatem (On the Dignity and Vocation of Women) by Saint Pope John Paul II
Quarter 3: Created for Community, Endow
Quarter 4: Little Women, Louisa May Alcott
You can read more about the Endow curriculum here. “The moral and spiritual strength of a woman is joined to her awareness that God entrusts the human being to her in a special way. Of course, God entrusts every human being to each and every other human being. But this entrusting concerns women in a special way—precisely by reason of their femininity—and this in a particular way determines their vocation.” (Mulieris Dignitatem)
Required Materials: Books and supplies are not included in the purchase of the course. These resources are listed to help inform your decision-making as you make course selections and build your course schedule. Please reach out to the instructor if you have any questions about materials.
