Biography

Presvytera Eleni Kallaur holds her Dyslexia Practitioner Certification in the Wilson Reading System–a Tier 3 Structured Literacy program based on phonological-coding research and Orton-Gillingham principles. She was inspired to learn more about dyslexia and reading difficulties after her youngest son was diagnosed as being severely dyslexic.
Presvytera Eleni has worked in the private and public sector, as well as Director of International Students at Franciscan University of Steubenville before having children. She holds a BA in European History/International Relations from Goucher College, studied in Athens, Greece, and attended Drew University’s Semester at the United Nations. She also holds an MA in Public and International Affairs, and her TESOL Certification from the University of Pittsburgh.
Presvytera Eleni is married to Father Michael Kallaur. Together they serve Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Pittsburgh, PA, where she teaches the Youth Forum Church School class and chants for some of the services. Presvytera Eleni homeschooled her three boys. They enjoyed the freedom that it gave them to learn according to their needs, and to learn by traveling to multiple historic sites in the States, as well as Greece and Italy. Her two older sons are now graduated from college, and her youngest son is a senior in high school.
