Biography

Susie Kim is a passionate and curious scientist with a growing love for biology and education. She holds a B.S in Biology from Wheaton College (IL) and is currently conducing neuroscience research at Yale University studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases.

Beyond the lab, Susie finds immense joy in sharing her fascination for science and helping students discover that science can be both exciting and accessible. During her undergraduate studies, she has been recognized for her excellence as a Organic Chemistry Teaching Assistant and a tutor. Additionally, she is passionate about bridging educational opportunities in underserved communities which led her to serve as a English and Math tutor in both rural South Korea and Malawi, Africa during college.

When Susie is not teaching or not surrounded by stacks of petri dishes in the lab, you will find her with her piano, going on long walks, or finding any excuses to throw a impromptu dinner party with her friends.
