Ms. Youngju Smoot

Youngju Smoot is a certified educator with more than 40 years of teaching experience in public schools, IB international schools, and universities across Korea, China, and India. She currently teaches Korean online to students of all ages in the United States.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Jeonju National University of Education, a Master’s degree in Art Education from Seoul National University, and completed doctoral coursework in Education at Jeonbuk National University.
Youngju is passionate about helping students grow academically, personally, and spiritually. She strives to create a supportive learning environment where students build confidence, discover their God-given gifts, and develop a lifelong love of learning while partnering closely with families.
In addition to teaching, Youngju is a professional artist whose work has been exhibited widely, including a permanent sculpture honoring a Christian Korean martyr. She enjoys integrating art, culture, and language to make learning engaging and meaningful.
